We turn a design you supply into a site that works on desktop, tablet and phone.
We have not yet reproduced another company's design, though. Please check the accuracy with a small trial.

We are an outside production partner for web production companies and advertising agencies. Novaia Labs has no commercial delivery record yet. So we have set out what we can do, and what we cannot do yet, in a form you can check.

Scope

For each item, we have written how sure we are today.
A complete website
Structure, design, copy, implementation, materials and verification, all in one hand.
On our own initiative we built eight sample sites: one-page sites for a photo studio, a Japanese confectioner and a bicycle shop, and four-to-six-page sites for a dental clinic, an architecture office, a watch workshop, a perfume atelier and a fashion brand.
Interaction and motion
Scroll, tap, drag, long press, cursor. We build motion that responds to input, kept light and always stoppable.
We have published 18 sites you can touch. They also hold up without motion, and they respect the reduced-motion setting.

Akari Photo Studio is an example: a single page where the photograph appears as if a shutter were opening.

This covers only what automated checks can find. We have not tested with assistive technology.

Process
How we work and how we checkHow a project runs
If motion is not put into words, it drifts apart. We write it first, agree, and then build.

Receive
You give us the design comp, the specification and the motion notes. Before we start, we return a list of questions.
- 02
Write the motion down
We write each motion in four points (what the user does, how it responds, how many seconds, how it looks when stopped), and build it after we agree.
- 03
Implement
Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript are the basis. We put lightness, and how the page looks when motion is stopped, first.
- 04
Verify
We run automated checks (axe), measure frame intervals, take screenshots at desktop and phone widths, and check keyboard operation and the reduced-motion setting.
- 05
Review with fresh eyes, then deliver
Someone other than the maker reviews it. The items we checked and the results go with the delivery.
Our verification is currently centred on automated browser tests and automated accessibility checks. We have also checked with the same rendering engine as Safari. Checks on real devices are done in the environments you specify.

What we deliver

Integration into your existing environment (a CMS, for example) is judged project by project.
Your materials
- We agree in writing, before work begins, how your non-public materials are handled.
Contract and confidentiality
- For a non-disclosure agreement, we will gladly review your form first.
- Ownership of rights, subcontracting and credit (including anonymous delivery) are agreed individually in the contract.
- Please ask whether we can match your billing and payment terms.
Quotes
- We quote project by project. There is no fixed price list.
- A quote is built from the scope, the number of screens or pages, the number of motions, the number of revisions and the deadline.
- The quote itself is free.
